Frequently Asked Questions

You don't need to. However, by supplying this information, you provide the site with the means to determine your (and others') normality for specific demographics. So, for instance, if you wanted to see how "normal" you were compared to all other single, males ages 26-35, you could do that if you supplied this information. Remember, your votes will never be reveled to others, and if you choose to not share your personal information (an option in your profile), nobody will be able to see your specific demographics.

Your "Normality" rating is a number between 1-10 which is calculated based on your answers to polls and how your answers compare to the answers given by others. The calculations aren't terribly complex. Basically speaking, if your answer(s) match the answer(s) given by everyone else, your "Normality" would be 10. If your answer(s) are different from those given by others, your "Normality" would be 0.

"Normality" ratings really get interesting when calculated based on a narrowed set of demographics. It's fun to see how your bathroom habits compare to other single, males between the ages of 26-35! Use the Demographic Normality link on the left to narrow down your "Normality" rating to the desired set of demographics.

That is your What's Normal? badge. There are several different badges that you can earn by voting in What's Normal? polls. The more polls you vote in, the higher your badge. The different levels are newbie, apprentice, journeyman and pro.

On the left side of every page, there is a "My Account" section. Click on the "Edit My Account" link to display your Account Information page. On the Account Information page, click the "Profile" link. This will allow you to edit your profile/preferences. There is an "E-Mail Opt-In" checkbox which indicates your email preferences. If checked, the site will email you when new polls are posted. If unchecked, you will not be emailed.
